CMYK to HSL

HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) aligns better with how humans perceive color. It makes it easier to adjust colors systematically - you can modify saturation or lightness while keeping the same hue, which is particularly useful for creating color variations and harmonious schemes.

HSL is particularly useful during the design process when you need to create color variations, adjust brightness or saturation, or establish color harmony. HEX is more common for final implementation in code, while RGB is standard for digital displays.

Our conversion uses precise algorithms, but due to fundamental differences between CMYK (subtractive) and HSL (additive) color models, perfect conversion isn't always possible. Some print colors can't be perfectly replicated on digital displays and vice versa.

Hue (0-360°) represents the color itself (red, green, blue, etc.), Saturation (0-100%) represents the intensity or purity of the color, and Lightness (0-100%) represents how light or dark the color is, with 50% being the purest form of the hue.

Yes, HSL can be converted back to CMYK, but the same limitations apply - some digital colors can't be perfectly reproduced in print. For critical print applications, always consult with your printer and consider using Pantone color references.
