HSL provides intuitive color manipulation by separating color properties: Hue controls the base color, Saturation adjusts intensity (from gray to vivid), and Lightness controls brightness (from black to white). HSL simplifies creating color harmony by working with hue angles: Analogous schemes use hues within 30° of each other, Complementary schemes use hues 180° apart, Triadic schemes use three hues equally spaced (120° apart), and Tetradic schemes use two pairs of complementary colors. By maintaining consistent saturation and lightness values across these hue variations, you can create cohesive palettes that work well together.
