RGB to HEX

HEX is commonly used in CSS and HTML for its compact format and widespread browser support. Many developers prefer HEX for static colors and RGB/RGBA for dynamic or semi-transparent colors.

3-character HEX codes are shorthand for 6-character codes where each pair of characters is identical. For example, #F00 is equivalent to #FF0000, and #123 is equivalent to #112233. This shorthand works when both characters in each RGB pair are the same, reducing the code length while maintaining the same color value.

HEX codes can represent the same 16,777,216 colors as 8-bit RGB values (256 × 256 × 256). However, HEX doesn't natively support alpha (transparency) channels, unlike the rgba() format. For transparent colors, you would need to use RGBA or the 8-character HEX format with alpha (#RRGGBBAA) which is supported in modern browsers.
